Partial outage for multiple payment methods at checkout

What happened?

We are currently investigating a partial outage with Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, and other integrated payment methods at checkout. Customers may see error messages saying "There was an issue processing your payment", or other errors. Some refunds and payment capture attempts may also be temporarily impacted.

Alternative payment methods, such as PayPal Express, are still working for impacted customers. We’re working on a solution and will keep you updated.


  1. We’ve temporarily disabled some payment methods that have been fully not working at checkout. This means customers may not see all expected payment methods at checkout, until the issues are resolved.

  2. We’ve identified the problem impacting multiple payment methods, and we’re working on a solution.
